Where does one even begin to describe the wonders of Rome?
Common superlatives seem to fall short when the topic of Rome is discussed. How does one describe such a place, such a mix of the elegance, passion, strength, brutality, and pure unbridled emotion expressed through historic works that magnificently continue to magically stand before us.
How does one, a Roman citizen conduct the trivial, seemingly mindless pursuits of day to day life, while strolling beside, shoulder nearly grazing, spectacular whispers of centuries past? Rome is a gift to each of us, a thought provoking, heart strings pulling, lesson that teaches all of us the invaluable concept of perspective. Rome seems to effortlessly present this message to each visitor, as if to say, ‘look around and see all that has come before you’, bringing to light, ever so subtly, the frivolity of the seemingly unconquerable quests of daily life.
Although these messages we receive may be subtle, in terms of Rome’s architectural marvels, artistic phenomena, and incredible historical masterpieces, the splendors of Rome are far from obscure.

Within the city of Rome, we are presented, for our enjoyment and appreciation some of the most spectacular works existing today. These highlights range from awe-inspiring churches, such as St. Peter’s Basilica and the quietly captivating Basilica di San Clemente; the illustrious squares such as Piazza Navona- home to Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers, Campo dei Fiori- where one can purchase the freshest of fruits and vegetables and a host of other offerings; and of course the Piazza di Spagna- where one can rest on the Spanish Steps while enjoying the enchantingly charming harmonics of a perfectly tuned guitar.
The Pantheon, the Roman Forum, the Coliseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel, works by Michelangelo, Caravaggio, and so many more represent the true grandeur of Rome- as do the present day’s vibrancy and color expressed through the congenial residents’ emphatic attitudes and the culture they have established based on genuine heartfelt expression and warmth. This is Rome. This is Italy.
